A small business website cost is easier to judge when you can see the scope behind the number. How many pages are included? Who supplies the words? Can customers send an enquiry? What happens when you want something changed?

Our small business website package starts at £1,750, plus VAT where applicable. It is intended for businesses that need a professional website to explain their services, show their work and help customers get in touch. We agree the pages, features and fixed price before starting.

Here is what that starting point covers, what needs a separate quotation and how to decide whether it suits your business.

What the website package includes

The package covers up to five agreed pages, designed for mobile and desktop. A service business might use those pages for Home, Services, About, Our Work and Contact. The right structure depends on what a customer needs to understand before making an enquiry.

It also includes:

  • Help refining the words and images you supply for those pages.
  • An enquiry form and clear contact links.
  • SEO foundations, including page titles, descriptions, headings and a sitemap.
  • Two rounds of revisions.
  • Launch support and a practical handover.

Five pages is a scope limit, rather than a requirement to fill five pages. If the most useful structure is smaller, we can discuss that. If several services each need their own detailed page, we agree the additional work before the build.

Our Roebuck Couriers project shows how service information, coverage and a clear quote route can work together. The lesson is to give people the information they need for their next decision.

Which costs need a separate quotation?

Hosting, domain names, business email and ongoing care are agreed separately. These arrangements affect what you pay after launch and who manages the website, so they belong in the initial conversation.

Photography, substantial copywriting and extra content also need their own scope. Refining a supplied service description is a different job from researching and writing a large set of pages from scratch.

Online shops, payment systems, product setup, integrations and custom features require a separate quotation. Our portfolio includes projects such as The Glass Shop Online, with configuration and pricing choices for bespoke products. That is a different scope from a small service website with an enquiry form.

When comparing proposals, ask each supplier to list the build cost, any recurring charges and the work that sits outside the price. Make sure you are comparing the same job.

What does “SEO foundations” mean?

We organise the agreed pages with understandable headings and navigation, set page titles and descriptions, and provide a sitemap. Those are part of giving the website a clear structure.

A new website does not come with a guaranteed Google position. Search performance also depends on the usefulness of the content, competition and other work beyond the build. Google’s SEO starter guide explains the role of helpful content and why improvements take time to assess.

If attracting local enquiries is your priority, tell us the services and areas you actually cover. “Boiler servicing in Southampton” gives us a more useful brief than “we want more traffic”. Ongoing SEO, content and advertising can then be discussed separately around the work you want to win.

How long does a website take?

A typical small business website takes around two to three weeks once the brief and content are ready, subject to availability. We confirm the schedule before starting.

That time allows for building the pages, reviewing them with you, making the agreed changes and preparing for launch. It is useful to choose one person to gather feedback from your business so each revision round has a clear set of decisions.

Our website content checklist will help you collect the basics. You do not need polished copy to start the conversation. You do need accurate information about your services, contact details and the promises your business can keep.

Is this the right starting point for your business?

This package suits a business that needs a clear home online and a straightforward enquiry journey. That could be a local service company replacing an outdated site, a specialist explaining its work or an independent business starting with its first proper website.

If that sounds like your project, tell us what your website needs to do. Include your current website if you have one, the main services you want to promote and anything that must be part of the build. We can then discuss a sensible scope and confirm the price before you commit.
